Mission San Francisco de Asis

Hardships and chnges to the mission

Some of there problems were that there was not good soil and disease problems many people died at the mission with unmarked graves. The mission changed by getting old and it is not a mission anymore now people look at the mission and study about it . And it did need to be rebuilt. After the war,the mexican goverment took the religion out of the missions (secularation). Spanish priests and soldiers lost their power. C.A. indians were allowed to leave the missions, but most stayed and worked on the ranchos. Eventually mexico went to war with the united states and the U.S. won years later the missions were rebuilt and today some have active churches.
